Lynn Ryder, Esq.  AttorneyMs. Ryder earned a B.S. from the University California at Davis. Before her law studies, she worked for more than 20 years as an operational manager in industries including agriculture and journalism. She subsequently earned a J.D. from Ventura College of Law and has been admitted to the California Bar.

In the journalism business, Ms. Ryder was on the startup team of the Jacksonville Business Journal, and, later, the San Francisco Business Times. Responsibilities included recruiting, training, coaching, developing and codifying procedures for fulfillment operations, marketing, and customer service.

With over 20 years in agri-business, she honed the skills required to translate and implement governmental regulations and policies. During this time she mentored professional staff and trained unskilled new-hires in technical jobs while maintaining quality standards, safety, and improving overall staff performance.

Working for the world’s largest vegetable seed producer, Ms. Ryder managed a local operation of 30+ employees and coordinated 14 worldwide facilities. She organized and directed worldwide workshops for staff training and protocol standardization.

Ms. Ryder served as an Employee Relations Representative for a nationwide security provider with over 100,000 employees where she provided research support and guidance on state and federal labor laws. She participated in an internal program for pre-litigation responses to charges of discrimination, investigated external discrimination charges and allegations, drafted position statements and responses, and provided guidance to field management for compliance with EEOC guidelines.

During law school, Ms. Ryder volunteered at the Ventura Center for Dispute Settlement, a non-profit organization offering alternative dispute resolution methods as solutions to issues that would otherwise be resolved through litigation.

Ms. Ryder joined the team at Employer’s Legal Advisor, Inc. in 2005 as an intern. She is currently providing legal advice and representing employers on all aspects of employment law with an emphasis on compliance issues.
